Types of Wedding Cake

The wedding cake has always been an important part of the host, but these days it is so important. Brides really plan the entire wedding around the design of the cake. These are the kinds of cake and frosting that are likely to find:

White cake: The most traditional wedding cake flavor; For more oomph, add a taste filling between the layers, like the raspberry buttercream or apricot preserves.

Chocolate Cake: A crowd pleasing! Brides are getting more generous for serving chocolate cake. It can be hidden under a white glaze for a traditional look, or frozen in a decadent chocolate treat. Chocolate is very popular for grooms cake. "

Marble Cake: Can not decide between white cake and chocolate cake than a marble cake is the answer?.

Lemon Cake: tart and refreshing, try a lemon cake for a wedding this summer. From personal observation, I note that women seem to prefer lemon flavored desserts much more than men, so make sure the groom is in order with the lemon at the checkout with your baker.

Carrot Cake: An excellent choice for a wedding in the autumn. If you are hoping to cream cheese often found in carrot cake to freeze, they probably know more ivory than pure white.

Buttercream Frosting: The most popular icing, buttercream is so light and rich at once. Required cooling, however, it is not a good choice for outdoor wedding reception.

Fondant: This icing is that you often find in extensive couture style cake. Fondant wrapped in a sheet and then that over the cake a very smooth finish. Makes a great base for decorations, and holds up well in the heat. Fudge is chosen more for its latest flavor, you might want another layer of the most delicious frosting underneath.

Royal Icing and Gum Paste: These are used to the decorations on the cake. Royal icing is good for its elegant decor, such as a monogram, and flexible gum paste is ideal for making beautiful frosting flowers.

Once you and the baker has the correct type of cake for your wedding, it's time to decide on decorations. Fresh flowers are always a nice option, and is very affordable. You may need the baker and the florist for flowers to coordinate. Another idea is quite wide ribbon around the base of each layer. Satin or grosgrain ribbon works very well, or you can create the bakery frosting "ribbons".

From there the plan continues to expand. A very hot trend is to coordinate the cake dress of the bride and wedding jewelry. You can lace or embroidery in enamel to replicate the pattern for the dress to imitate. Another popular idea is to decorate the cake with crystals or faux pearls on the wedding jewelry to bind. The nice thing about this type of design is that it is very personal, and will be a completely original design.

The prices of wedding cakes can range from hundreds to thousands. If you have a cake exhibition, but has a limited budget, order a smaller tiered cake for the screen, and then a sheet cake in the same flavor that can be cut in the kitchen and served to your visitors. No one will be the wiser.

Selecting your wedding cake will be easy once you know the basics of cake. Of course you still have an extensive test cake, just because it's fun. For a sweet surprise, ask the baker if you are able to make a small copy of your birthday cake for the first creation. A large cake is delicious but once enjoy!
